Synopsis

Dear John is an adaptation of Nicholas Sparks's novel of the same name. John Tyree is a Sergeant in the United States Army Special Forces. He  is on vacation for two-week when he meets Savannah Curtis, a college student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on spring break, when he rescues her purse from the water. Savannah is helping build a house for Habitat for Humanity. Over the course of two weeks John help Savannah to build the house, along the 2 weeks they falls in love.
John meets Savannah's family, her neighbor, Tim Wheddon , and Tim's son, Alan  who has autism.Savannah meets John's father Mr. Tyree, a reclusive man who seems to be obsessed with his coin collection, but his genuine interest draws her, to John's surprise. As she is about to go back to college, she promises to write John overseas during the next 12-months until he returns to her after completing his enlistment. In the last day they spend together, They split with, "I'll see you soon then" rather than goodbye. Their love is put to the test when John reenlists after the September 11 attacks.
